COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is conceived for people approaching rope access work without experience. In some circumstances it is necessary to work on ropes, for example to access roofs or building facades, or on pylons, carrying out work at height for a prolonged period of time and having to carry heavy objects, or simply moving them. To make these operations easier and safer for the user, the Skylotec ACX course for lifting materials and people is the solution. This two-day course is designed to train the user to safely set up a rope access work system and ascend/descend and/or move materials using the ACX device.

TRAINING LOCATIONS
In house: the training can take place in different Skylotec certified training centers globally. Two locations are present in Italy:
- via Torchio, 9 / 24034 Cisano Bergamasco (BG);
- via Garibaldi, 20 / 36034 Malo (VI).
Onsite: The training can also be also delivered directly at customerĀ“s facilities globally.
TARGET GROUP
This course is addressed to people and companies that need the ActSafe ACX automatic lifting and lowering devices for handling goods and people.
PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS
- Have a good knowledge in the use of PPE.
- Have a basic certificate for working at height.
- Level 1 rope access operator qualification or higher is acceptable in place of the above certification.
- It is recommended that participants have an appropriate level of rope access experience.
- Be medically fit, able to participate fully and able to sign a confirmation medical statement
LEARNING CONTENT
At the end of this course, users will be able to:
- describe and apply general safety guidelines when working with ActSafe equipment;
- describe and apply the basic requirements for lifting equipment;
- describe the risks of working with lithium ion batteries and how to care for them;
- indicate which ropes should be used when working with ActSafe devices;
- describe all parts and controls of the lifting equipment and their functions;
- assess when ActSafe Power Ascenders should not be used;
- demonstrate a pre-use check of the device;
- demonstrate how to correctly insert the rope into the device;
- demonstrate the safe and correct use of back-up devices used when working with ACX devices;
- demonstrate the four configurations for lifting people and equipment and how to switch from one to the other while remaining correctly secured;
- demonstrate emergency and rescue procedures.
CERTIFICATE AND VALIDITY PERIOD
- Every participant that has successfully completed the course will be given a certificate.
- The certificate is valid for 2 years.
- Biennial Re-Assessment is necessary.
- The certificate will be issued after the training.
