COURSE DESCRIPTION
Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) has to fulfil high requirements and standards. This will prevent users from risks and hazards in the workplace. With high quality of manufacturing conforming to standards and the correct usage of PPE, the correct and periodic check of the equipment is an important part of safety. The periodic inspections must be performed by a competent person. This course is designed to train instructors in how to acquire the knowledge and skills to train other competent people.

Duration: 2 days / 16 hours
TRAINING LOCATIONS
In house: the training can take place in different Skylotec certified training centers globally. Two locations are present in Italy:
- via Torchio, 9 / 24034 Cisano Bergamasco (BG);
- via Garibaldi, 20 / 36034 Malo (VI).
Onsite: The training can also be also delivered directly at customer´s facilities globally.
TARGET GROUP
Instructors who wish to hold courses to train competent people.
PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 18 years old.
- Reliable according to their delegated tasks.
- Experienced and knowledge in using PPE and working with PPE.
- Have a valid PPE Competent Person Certificate.
- Possess instructor qualifications and have hours of such documented experience.
LEARNING CONTENT

- The participants have an overview about the rules and standards according to working at heights and they have also an overview about the important standards and rules of checking PPE.
- Participants know the different materials used for PPE and their characteristics.
- Participants know how to use the different equipment and are able to identify the main problems and defects while using and after using the equipment.
- The participants know how to use and check PPE soft goods for example harnesses, ropes, lanyards, shock absorbers, slings and hardware for example descenders, rope clamps and all equipment for which the manufacturers have given the clearance to be checked by a competent person.
- The participants know which equipment they are allowed to check and that they are not allowed to change, open, or repair PPE.
- Participants will hold a Competent Person course in accordance with EN 365 on the second day of the course.
CERTIFICATE AND VALIDITY PERIOD
- Every participant that has successfully completed the course will be given a certificate.
- The certificate is valid for 2 years.
- Biennial Re-Assessment is necessary.
- The certificate will be issued after the training.
